Monday April. 20th, 12:00 to 1:30 pm

In-person

Embassy of Japan (Historic Old Ambassador’s Residence)
2516 Massachusetts Avenue NWWashington, DC 20008

Join the Washington, D.C., and Maryland chapters of the Labor and Employment Relations Association for lunch and a conversation where ‘Research Meets Practice.’ An academic will speak to what research says about workers’ voice in organizing, while a practitioner will speak to what actually happens on the front line. On the academic side, we will hear from John W. Budd, National LERA President and Professor at the University of Minnesota, with expertise in labor relations, collective bargaining, industrial relations, and labor policy. On the practitioner side, we will hear from Workers United campaign leaders and baristas organizers involved in the Starbucks organizing efforts. The discussion will be moderated by the past President of LERA and DC LERA, Steve Sleigh.

Co-sponsored by the Embassy of Japan.

Please RSVP below if you can join us!
