The Labor and Employment Relations Association of Northeast Ohio (LERA-neo) recently announced the postponement of our March 25 meeting, which was scheduled to feature Kevin Cassidy, Senior Communications and Economic and Social Affairs Officer of the International Labor Organization.
The announcement notification mentioned that Mr. Cassidy may be rescheduled for the scheduled May 20 program date; of course, that will depend on the course of the continuing COVID-19 emergency.
The LERA-neo chapter was awarded the highest chapter award in 2019: the LERA Chapter Star Award!
The chapter received this award for its significant contributions in the areas of: Outstanding Programming, Chapters Helping Other Chapters, Member Innovation, Chapter Communications, Chapter Turnaround/Startup, and Chapter to National Relations.
LERA-neo wrapped up a nearly two-year process of hosting the LERA 71st Annual Meeting this June in Cleveland, Ohio. 475 people from 13 countries attended the event. The chapter was instrumental in being able to offer Ohio attorneys who attended over 30 possible hours in CLE’s.
Dennis Minni (President), Greg Szuter (Treasurer), and Bill Lavezzi advised the LERA program committee, invited the mayor of Cleveland to speak, planned an afternoon at the Cleveland Indian’s baseball game for conference-goers, and also organized a successful pre-conference professional development workshop for those interested in becoming arbitrators.
