Federal Mediation with FMCS Commissioner Kent McVay

Program

As a federal mediator, Kent McVay operates as a neutral third party to assist employes and labor unions resolve disputes, avoid work stoppages, and navigate collective bargaining negotiations. FMCS provides a range of services to employers and unions including Training and Education, Labor Management Cooperation initiatives, Conflict Resolution including grievance mediation and arbitration, and conference planning and staffing. FMCS, along with many other federal agencies, has experienced funding challenges. Commissioner McVay will provide an update on FMCS services and staffing for the Southeast Region.
