Remedies to prevent BULLYING in the WORKPLACE
Approved for TX Attorney MCLE’s and SHRM Recertification Credit -1.25 hours
Program: FREE – Virtual Only
The targets of workplace bullies often suffer long after the bullying stops. Resentment, anger, emotional pain, and even physical ailments can prevent them from moving forward with their lives. How can people who have been bullied at work grow from victim to survivor?
These questions and others will be addressed in the program to be conducted by LaVena Wilkin, Ph.D., Dean of Conflict Management programs at Sullivan University, a respected authority on the issues that arise from workplace bullying. Her presentation will delve into what workplace bullying is, its costly impact on both the target and organization, and strategies on both how to avoid workplace bullying in the first place and how to address incidents of bullying in the workplace when they do occur with appropriate action. Accordingly, the program will provide authoritative assistance to Company and Union attorneys and advocates, and Human Resources professionals who advise their clients on workplace bullying issues and the potential workplace safety and disability issues that may arise as a result.
Dr. Wilkin’s book “Thriving After Workplace Bullying – Journey from Victim to Survivor”, tells the stories of the survivors of workplace bullying focusing on their resilience, how they moved past the hurt, and crucially, how they changed from perceiving themselves as a victim to feeling empowered. Thriving After Workplace Bullying is essential reading for organizational leaders, Human Resources professionals, Attorneys and anyone invested in employee welfare.
