The Texas Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association (formerly Greater Houston LERA) has been affiliated with the national LERA since 1977. The chapter’s Board consists of 6 Officers (President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 3rd Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and 12 Directors (3 from Management; 3 from Labor; 3 from Education/Neutrals; and 3 from Government).  At times we may fill Associate Director(s), and President-Elect and/or Treasurer-Elect positions.  The Board meets most months (third Thursday at noon Central time) except when programs are presented on Board meeting dates.

Meetings

The Texas LERA chapter has about 70 members, presents about four programs per a year, usually has a holiday party in December, and has at least one chapter meeting a year.

Membership

Annual dues are $40 for regular membership, $20 for students/apprentices, and $150 for organizations (up to 5 members). Membership year is on a running 12 months from the date membership dues are paid.  The easiest way to pay your dues is to log into your LERA account, click on “Membership” in the gray horizontal menu and click on “Select/Renew” for the appropriate membership type, complete any necessary information, and then indicate pay by credit card.  You can still use this method if you are not logged into your account, however, you will have to reenter your basic information.  An alternative is to complete the form below and mail it as indicated.

If you are a professional or an academic in the field of industrial relations and human resources, we invite you to join the National LERA. The National LERA organization provides a network of IR and HR practitioners and academics who share their knowledge and insight through regular LERA publications and at LERA meetings twice a year. LERA was founded in 1947 as the IRRA (Industrial Relations Research Association) and today encompasses more than 5,000 members.
