The Fundamentals of Labor-Management Partnerships (LMPs)

With Jim Pruitt, Vice President, LMP and Labor Relations, Kaiser Permanente

Date and Time

February 26th, 7pm Eastern Time

Webinar Program Description

This program focuses on efforts within the US to foster closer relationships between employers and unions. It looks at some of the early history of this type of approach and its controversies as well as some current examples.

LMP’s have existed in some form since the post-Civil War era both between corporations and unions and in concert with government.  This  program will highlight controversies and successes and will ask the question why LMPs are not more common. It will proffer two interrelated reasons: 1.) There are constituencies in both labor and management who prefer a more traditional adversarial approach to labor-management relations and it is important to note that that approach is not without merit.  2.) LMPs can become overly-complex
