Program

The Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds include five separate multi-employer funds that provide a broad range of benefits to more than 185,000 members and 288,000 covered lives, with a combined asset portfolio of approximately $10 billion. Each Fund is administered by a joint Board of Trustees composed of Union Trustees and Employer Trustees, with equal voting power.

In this presentation, we will examine the history of the Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds, including how the Funds developed alongside 32BJ’s efforts over the past 25 years to organize new members and consolidate smaller locals. We will also discuss the impact of rising healthcare costs on collective bargaining and the Funds’ efforts to address these challenges by focusing on hospital pricing in shaping healthcare policy.
