OC LERA, LA LERA and San Diego LERA have combined to form SoCal LERA – serving all of Southern California’s labor and employment community with timely and informative programs. Please join us for our upcoming program hosted via videoconference.
Laboring Through the Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to employers, unions, and employees, including collective bargaining over a myriad of issues surrounding worker safety, leaves, quarantines, related work stoppages, testing and vaccinations, and employer indemnification. Our expert panelists will discuss these unique challenges, as well as the role of the National Labor Relations Board and the FMCS, and the impact of federal, state and local COVID-19 regulations on various industries. They will also present their unique personal experiences and best practices dealing with changes in the mechanics of collective bargaining precipitated by the pandemic, including virtual arbitrations, mediations and depositions, representation case hearings, and ULP trials. As issues continue to develop and change in 2021 and beyond, our panelists will provide insight into the impact of more-widely available COVID-19 vaccines on the workplace, and also predict what changes might be wrought by the Biden Administration.
