Timing and Preparation for Negotiations

Planning and preparation is the first and most important approach to negotiation.  Understanding your concessions, available alternatives, as well as the other side’s, are important steps to take to preparing for your next negotiation. Join us to learn how to prep and time your negotiations process, and get your questions answered, too!

Alyssa Tibbetts, Esq., of Jensen Baird

Alyssa represents both public and private clients in all aspects of employer-employee relationships, including employment contracts, separation agreements, personnel policies, benefits administration, investigations, collective bargaining, arbitrations, and matters before the Maine Human Rights Commission and Maine Labor Relations Board. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Alyssa served as the Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Cumberland where she was responsible for the Town’s human resources services and economic development, among other administrative responsibilities.  Alyssa is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law where she served as Chair of the Moot Court Team and a representative to the Student Bar Association. A Portland native, she currently lives in Scarborough with her family.

William Doyle, Executive Director of the National Corrections Employees Union.

Bill has been employed by the National Correction Employee Union for the past 10 years. He was hired to work as a labor regional representative and then promoted to Executive Director in 2022. After graduating with n AA in Criminal Justice and a BA in Legal Studies he worked for the York County Correction facility before being hired by the Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services as a police officer. He has worked as a district negotiator for the California School Employees Association representing 2500 hundred employee just prior to working for NCEU.  In 2015 he was elected as district ward counselor and he recently finish a a 4 year term as the elected Mayor of Saco, Maine.
