There are five collective bargaining agreements between the State of Ohio and the five Unions representing approximately 40,000 Unionized state employees.  All five Agreements expired in 2021, and the parties mutually negotiated a unique dispute resolution procedure in the event impasse was reached during the five sets of negotiations.  A mutually agreed upon process is allowable under the State’s public sector labor statute, ORC Section 4117.

Speakers

The advocates who designed and implemented the process will join us at the LERA Northeast Ohio Chapter meeting to discuss their unique success as follows:

Kristin Rankin, Deputy Director of the Ohio Office of Collective Bargaining Office

Aimee Szczerbacki, Ohio Office of Collective Bargaining Office

Kate Nicholson, Ohio Office of Collective Bargaining Office

Union advocates on the panel will include

Steve Lazurus, who represented the Unit 2 Association

Mike Duco, who represented OCSEA, AFSCME Local 11

Josh Norris who represented SEIU District 1199
