There is a lot going on at the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) this year.  If you have not had any dealings with OSHA lately, you may soon.  Our September program speakers are James Shelton, a Compliance Assistance Specialist with OSHA and Mini Kapoor, an attorney with the Haynes Boone law firm.  They will discuss various programs on which OSHA is directing a lot of its resources, including COVID-19, lead, hexavalent chromium, process safety management, and heat-related hazards, among others.  They will tell us what programs are being emphasized not only nationally, but also in our Regional area, and in which industries.  Of course, there will be discussion of the new walkaround rule and the role of union representatives in that process.  The presentation will be moderated by Charlie Singletary, an International Vice President of the Operating Engineers Union and Business Manager of IUOE Local 564.
