Justin Schweitzer is the Vice President for Organizing for the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU), which is Local 70 of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE). Prior to this role, Justin was the Head of Organizing for the CAP Union, during which time he also served on the bargaining committee as the CAP Union negotiated its third contract with the Center for American Progress (CAP). In that role, Justin helped with many aspects of running a union, including orienting new members, representing members in meetings with managers, managing stewards, running elections, coordinating collective actions and events, communicating updates to members, and contract bargaining. For his main job, Justin is a Policy Analyst on the Inclusive Economy team at CAP, focusing on improving safety net programs and conditions for low-wage workers.

Katie Parker works as an Administrative Organizer with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU), IFPTE Local 70. Katie first got involved with NPEU when she helped organize a union at her nonprofit and then served on the bargaining committee for the organization’s first Collective Bargaining Agreement. This experience led her to pursue labor law, and Katie is currently a part-time student at Georgetown University Law Center. This past summer and fall, Katie worked as a legal clerk with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
