News You Can Use from the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board

Do you have questions about the Pennsylvania Employee Relations Act (PERA) and how it  relates to Act 88? Have you wondered how arbitrators are selected to be put in the pool?

On Tuesday, February 6, Central PA Labor & Employment Relations (LERA) chapter will host a zoom meeting from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We will welcome a panel presentation from:

  • Warren R. Mowery (Chief Counsel, PLRB)
  • Nathan Bortner (Secretary, PLRB)
  • Eric Sanoba (Director, PA Bureau of Mediation)

Our panel will discuss the Pennsylvania Employee Relations Act (PERA) and Act 88 regarding timelines pertaining to bargaining, mediation and arbitration.  They will speak from their different perspectives and discuss how they resolve bargaining disputes at any level, regarding compliance with the timetables. They will also discuss how arbitrators are selected for inclusion in the pool and welcome questions, on a variety of topics, including those pertaining to tips for making effective presentations to the Board.

This meeting will take place online via Zoom. Once you register, you will receive the join information via email, and you will receive it again on the day of the event, about an hour before the event begins.

Begins at 6pm
Ends by 7pm
